Röwer & Rüb Fairness Award: Expression of a lived passion for horses

New award for fair treatment of  sports partners

Horse health is one of the most important concerns at Röwer & Rüb. For more than 150 years, we have been dedicated to designing living spaces for horses - and this naturally also includes regularly making a strong commitment to their well-being. Our products create an attitude towards life. That's why we believe: Only a holistic approach can achieve great things. But this requires many small positive changes and signals. And that's exactly the kind of signal we're sending out with the new Röwer & Rüb Fairness Award.

Röwer & Rüb Fairness Preis

Sensitive handling and horse-friendly riding

The Röwer & Rüb Fairness Award is intended to honour equestrian sportsmen and sportswomen who stand out for their particularly sensitive approach to their equestrian partners and horse-friendly riding. The "Winterlingen Winners" tournament in Winterlingen, in the German state of Baden-Württemberg, marked the start of the tournament. Here, Marc Poppel, contact person at Röwer & Rüb for sales in Southern Germany, selected four riders together with the panel of judges to honour them with the Fairness Award. He presented each of the prize winners with a high-quality sweat blanket, prize money of 250 euros and a specially made stable plaque with the well-known Röwer & Rüb emblem. The idea behind this: The handmade plaque is to serve as a reminder of the special award in the future.

„Together with the judges of the respective competitions, we have selected a total of four equestrian athletes in order to honour them with our Fairness Award. Mia Cara Brugger, Ann-Sophie Mayr, Barbara Steurer-Collee and Moritz Treffinger were the riders who particularly caught our attention with their horse-friendly behaviour. This included not only horse-friendly, sensibly structured solution phases, regular praise, and the choice of equipment, but also the smallest details such as loosening the saddle girth immediately after the test. None of them overtaxed their horses, but instead treated them in a spirit of partnership. This fine communication was the decisive factor in the end. With our four award winners, we have selected riders who put their partner, the horse, first.“

Surprise and enthusiasm went hand in hand

Marc Poppel, who presented the awards on behalf of Röwer & Rüb, was particularly pleased with the delighted reactions of the award winners. They were all surprised but absolutely thrilled. "This prize is a very special award and makes us all proud," said the family of pony dressage rider Ann-Sophie Mayr, for example. "Thank you so much for the great honorary awards and the generous cash prize!"

Röwer & Rüb are also delighted to have found an expression of their passion for horses in the Fairness Award. We are convinced that the well-being of horses must be the ultimate good if we want to keep them healthy as sporting partners in the long term. With the Röwer & Rüb Fairness Award, we want to set a positive example - now and in the future.
